Coach
I started CrossFit in 2017 after fumbling around a globogym for a couple years after college. I grew up cheerleading competitively (a national championship under my belt) and was looking for something that gave me the same team feeling. I found that and more at Rocket City CrossFit. My first and only CrossFit gym. As my love for CrossFit grew my want to share this experience with others grew and from there my desire to coach bloomed.
I received my L1 in May 2024 and coaching has been one of the joys of my life. Watching new athletes grow and hit milestones, from 1 rep maxs to full depth squats has been so exciting and fulfilling.
My turning point in life and fitness was when I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 28 in 2020. I was at my peak physical fitness and quit literally felt my fitness snatched away. I went from feeling the best I had in my left to fighting for me life. My outlook on fitness and the world around me changed. I quickly learned that RXing a workout wasn’t the end all be all for me and being able to move my body was a privilege and something not that be taken for granted. Every time I walk through the gym door I am thankful.
I find my passion in coaching in small wins. Showing up, adding five more pounds, one more rep. All of these things matter. I want athletes to leave my class and know that if they can do one more pull up than yesterday , then they can for sure take that extra step outside of the gym. They have the confidence and facilities to go for that promotion they want or that solo trip they have been eyeing. I hope my classes follow them outside of the gym.
